It's True! You're Two!

Well Dela, after a month of birthday celebrations, your day finally came.  We may have to switch up the way we celebrate because you may have had one of the laziest celebrations ever. After celebrating Lilly's birthday on the 9th, and then your combined party at zoo, we were just tired.  We woke up and had you open your gifts, then Gigi and Pawpaw came over to give you your present and we all went to eat lunch.  The end.

As far as the past year goes, you have grown in spirit but not much in size.  You are still quite the nugget and people are surprised that you are two.  They also talk about all of your hair, your eyes and your voice.  You have the sweetest voice but that may be where it ends.  Little girl you are mean!  You hit, bite, kick for No.Reason.At.All.  I know you are just fighting for your place in this family but lay off and be sweet!

Bidah!  We have no idea what you are saying when you yell this but you are always happy when you say it. So now our family chant when we are having a good time, "Bidah"! (Bee-Dah)

You love balls, babies, bubbles and bath time.  Any of those can put you in a good mood.

You finally have all of your teeth except the two year molars.

You still have the tiniest feet.

You still love your paci and have no intention of giving it up.

You are still very much a momma's girl.

I have enjoyed watching you grow and learn.  I missed so much of this time with your sister because I worked.  You are challenging but it is so fun to hang out with you and experience everything with you.

And next year I promise we will do better on your actual day :)

Four Score and (well just four years ago)

Lillybug, you turned four today.  Is seems like you have been talking about how when you get bigger you are going to ____________.  And today you turned "bigger" as you like to say.

I broke down and bought you light up shoes.  I loathe them. The only reason that I bought them, other than the fact that you wanted them soo bad, is that they do not have a cartoon character on them.  Mark my words girlfriend, you will never wear those hideous dora shoes.  Tonight in the car ride home it was getting dark outside and you kept making them flash.  Your dad and I kept thinking we were getting pulled over!

You also scored a glove, ball and bat.  We are determined to get you to college playing some sort of sport so next up is teeball.  Yes, I know they do not have teeball in college!

We took you to chuck-e-cheese tonight where you earned 438 tickets.  You scored the 38 and your dad and I scored the remaining 400 playing friendly wagers in skeeball.

I also have been telling you that four year olds do not suck their thumbs at night.  You have been completely on board with this until bedtime when you promptly told me that you did not want to be four years old anymore.  I finally had to tell you that I had no idea what you do when I turn the lights out to get you to go to sleep.

Little girl, you are more than we could ever ask for.  You tell us you love us without being prompted, you make us laugh with your silly jokes and witty mouth and you are the most outgoing, social little person always making others feel included.  We love you so much and can't wait to see what this year brings us with you!

Easter Weekend

No details, just pictures!

Oh Lilly!

Dela: Mine!
Me: Dela don't say that. It's not nice.
Lilly: Yeah Dela.  That is so annoying.

Me: Lilly, do you know what Easter means?
Lilly: That Jesus has been alive for 100 weeks.

Me: Lilly look at all this candy (looking at her school Easter loot)
Lilly: OMG, it's been a good Easter.

At Dance the other day...
Ms. Shawn: Girls, settle down. Jordan and Sam, no stamps for you if you don't behave.
Room goes silent...
Lilly: You know, one day I'm gonna have big boobies!

Catching Up (19 & 32 Months)

Sorry for the silence.  Been a little busy around these parts...

We will start with Lilly.  She had a fantastic Christmas.  ALL of her people were here with her this year and everyone got to witness her getting her first real big girl bike (her rainbow bike).  She got some other things but letsbehonest,  nothing else mattered except that bike!
She is getting (or seems to us) so tall.  We are both certain that she will be taller than us.  She wears 4T pants because all her 3T's are too short.  And I have noticed that some of 3T shirts are becoming crop tops.  So funny to see how something fits one day and not the next.
She is learning to swing in a big girl swing and will chant "legs up and down, legs up and down" everytime. She still prefers a fishing pole over a barbie doll but I'm good with that because I've got a diva on my hands with Dela.
Speaking of...
Mean girl.  Hits. Bites. Pinches. Pulls hair.  and then laughs like the devil.
WeAreInSoMuchTrouble with this one.
She is into clothes, shoes, bows, painted toes/nails, real babies & fake babies.
She's still little (12% height) and can still fit into anywhere from a 12 month to and 18 month clothes.
We are working on tooth #9-12.
Her vocabulary finally exploded and will say and repeat everything.
Still doesn't watch tv at all.  Please just sit for one episode of Sesame Street!
Climbs on everything.  We had to move their table and chair set to a new wall because we found her sitting on the kitchen counter playing on my phone.
Time out is in her near future.

Pictures to follow...
