Sidewalk Chalk

We have a talented young budding artist in the neighborhood that asked me the other day if she could draw on our sidewalk.  Lilly was having a bad day so I never got to see what she was up to until Paul came home from work and told me to go outside.  This is what we found...

Touchdown!

This has been Lilly's sleep position since day one.

Stats

Well we have grown 1/2 an inch and gained weight since our birthday.  Lilly is now 7lbs12ozs and is feeding so well that the doctor gave me a thumbs up on introducing the bottle.  This kid eats like crazy so it is hard to find the right time to pump but I did manage to get enough out for Paul to feed her for the first time!

Lazy Sundays

Thank god she likes to be outside like we do!

Baby it's hot outside!

I think this may be the way my child will spend her first Texas summer!

Cousin Beckett

Beckett did everything he could to stay the 31 hours until Lilly arrived.  Eventually he did have to go home and re-group before meeting her.  I think he likes her but what do you think?

I think this picture was taken somewhere around midnight capturing Beckett's slumber party at the hospital.

Flashbacks

Hi everyone!  Mom here...  We are doing great (and I am not just saying that)!  Lilly is an amazing baby.  She is eating great and sleeping pretty well.  We have had a couple of meltdowns and Paul says she hisses like a cat when she is really mad but so far so good.  Here are some highlights of the day she was born before I forget.  These are all coming to me thru flashbacks.  It's amazing what your body and mind can forget after you have a baby...

~Went into labor on Saturday, May 8 @ 11 am
~Got to the hospital at 5 that evening
~Opted for the epidural at 7 the next morning (yes, that was 20 hours of natural labor)
~Finally dilated to a 10 at 2 pm
~Pushed from 2-6 pm
~C-Section at 6:15 pm
~Lilly arrived @ 6:35 pm

I finally had to have a c-section because her head would not come down due to the fact that her shoulder was getting stuck on my pelvic bone.  Paul says he married me for my birthing hips but apparantly I don't have those :)  I am working on downloading pictures so stay tuned!

She's Here!

Lilly Janet arrived on Mother's Day, May 9, 2010 at 6:35pm.  She was 6 lbs 14 oz, 19 3/4 inches long. Mom, Dad, and Baby are doing great.  Mom says she will begin posting again when she's sane (or gets more than an hour of sleep!).

Tomorrow, Tomorrow, only a day away...

Well we are 40 weeks tomorrow but only 8% (I think) of babies are born on their actual due date.  We saw the doctor today and I am a full centimeter dilated, 75% effacement and -2 station.  She could actually feel the top of Lilly's head!  I also had my "membranes" stripped today to try and speed things up.  I had some contractions earlier in the evening but it looks like all of that has come to a stop :(
We will go back to the doctor next Wednesday to have one last look and set up my induction date.  Let's all hope I do not make it to next week.
If you are not sure what "station" means, watch this video...
