How can that be that you are almost two? And why do you sometimes act so much older than that - sassy? You are so so sweet and kind and sensitive but you can also be very stubborn, loud and mean. In one sentence you can so please, thank you and then hit me. Not nice!
The biggest thing you are doing this month, and by far the cutest thing you have done so far is to say, "bless you". This can be for a sneeze, a cough or a *ahem* toot. You will also say "it's okay, are you okay?" Sweet!
You sing all kinds of songs and old mcdonalds farm is filled with moms & dads and bye bye blacksheep apparantly only has wool for Lilly :)
Just this week we have noticed you saying the food blessing. I am guessing this is something new at school that you do before lunch.
We are planning your second birthday which will just be family and couple of friends but of course your momma has made it into a theme. We are trying not to get too carried away but I still want you to have something fun to look back on.
You had an amazing Easter and are a pro at finding eggs. You knew exactly what to do and didn't need any help at all. You had all of your people spoiling you all weekend and then you decided to get sick on Sunday when it was just your Dad and I. We have enjoyed snuggling with you though because soon enough it will not just be the three of us.
We love you so much and can't wait to see how the next couple of months play out...

21 & 22 Months - Where did they go?
So Lilly turned 21 months and we moved. Somewhere in there she turned 22 months and we are still moving. Too much going and the weather has been too nice not to enjoy it. Therefore I have not finished unpacking, I have yet to sign us up for internet at the new house and I have been way to busy to blog from work.

Someone has a birthday coming up soon. We have opted for a much smaller gathering instead of the all out blowout we had last year. I can't believe she will be two! I guess the present is already done since we are getting her a sister this year. Think she will like her gift?

- Limits - she test them and still proceeds to cross the line
- Biting - she has been getting bit at school (she is not the only one) but she tells me who it is. "Jackson, no bite Lilly, hurts" This Jackson kid better watch out!
- Food - she is not a fan of much unless it is a french fry, mac-n-cheese, cube cheese, yogurt or m&m's
- Food again - she has pretty much mastered the fork and spoon
- Drinking - she can drink from a cup although I still prefer the sippy (new house, new carpet)
- Potty - she ask to poo poo in the potty where she proceeds to take off her diaper. I then try to set her on the potty and she screams bloody murder.
- Singing - this girl has a set list a mile long. Most songs we know, some Paul and I look at each other like "what the ____". Guess we need to spend a day at school to brush up on our nursery rhymes
- Talking - (all.the.time) in sentences, repeating, memorized lines from a show she watches, etc. My new favorite is "I'm coming mommy" or "I'm coming daddy" as she runs toward us.
- Sister - she pulls up my shirt, points at my belly button and then pulls up her shirt and does the same.
- Spring - this girl is all about outside, sidewalk chalk, playing in the driveway with all of her ride on toys and BUBBLES

"I know they say you can't go home again"

Tomorrow morning, movers will show up to the place that Paul and I have called home for almost 8 years. They will load each piece of furniture and each box until there is nothing left except empty walls and floors. Fitting since this is the same way we moved in :)
This was not just our home. This was our first big investment, our commitment to stay in Austin and the place we hoped we would start a family in. We bought and sold cars, left and started new jobs all in the walls of this house. It was the place that most parties were hosted (and I am proud to say the police were only called once) Freddie, our first child, is buried under his favorite palm tree in the backyard. We brought Lilly home to this house. It is where she dyed her first Easter eggs, said her first word and took her first steps. This house was also the place that we hosted her first birthday party. Under all the oaks that shaded us from the blazing summers. If not for kids, we probably would have stayed here forever (ok maybe not).
We will leave good neighbors, friends and memories here for the next person. And I hope that he enjoys this house even more than we have. I hope that he loves this house more than we have.
We will move to a new place, new neighbors and unfamiliar surroundings. Right now it is just a house. But soon, I hope that it will become our home. We will bring a new life into this home and we will make even more memories here. Our daughters will go to school in this community. They will make their lifelong girlfriends here. They will meet their first boyfriends and have their hearts broken, drive for the first time and leave to go to college from this house (or so we think we will be there that long). And one day we will leave it too.
I have mixed emotions regarding this move. I know I will grow to love our new home but for now, I say goodbye to an old friend. You have been a good one!

20 months & 20 weeks
Lilly was 20 months on 1/9 and I was 20 weeks on 1/9. And we all better get ready for the little girl on the way. This means that somehow we are going to have to let Lilly know that throwing her baby dolls on the floor and laughing at the sound it makes is not a good idea! Poor Dela will have to be double buckled into everything to keep herself out of harms way. kidding aside...
Lilly is so funny and so challenging right now. The terrible 2 tantrums have begun. When she does not get her way she throws herself on the ground which we just laugh at. What we don't laugh at is her other way to express her anger - hitting her forehead on the wall! Someone please tell me this phase will end before my child is being fitted for a helmet.
Did I also mention that she now H-A-T-E-S to have her diaper changed? Potty training will begin as soon as the move is completed.
What we are loving right now is now much she loves to sing. She will go through all of her songs like she is going through a setlist. Her favorites are Bye Bye Black Sheep and Twinkle Twinkle.
She is OBESSED with Yo Gabba Gabba to the point where as she walks in the door from school she grabs the remote and says Yo.
Sometimes she will grab your hand and say "walk". She will then take you where she needs you and will say "help". We love that we are all starting to communicate with each other.
Now if only I could get her to eat...
Dela is now 20 weeks. She is measuring 20.5 weeks but it really doesn't matter because her birthday will be set. Which means I am more than halfway through with this pregnancy (c-section at 39 weeks)!
She is a mover and a shaker, way more than Lilly was. She doesn't really have a set schedule yet so it still throws me off a little when she does move around. We still have not nailed down a middle name. In our spare time (insert laugh here) we throw stuff around but nothing is set in stone yet. We have plenty of time though, right?

All About Dela
We had a great New Year's Eve and hope that everyone else did as well. We got some great news about Dela on Thursday. All of our test came back normal. Her heart, kidney's, brains, stomach and spine all look great. She has ten fingers and ten toes and she is right on target with her growth! Last night she gave me a special gift while I was watching TV with Lilly (Yo Gabba Gabba of course). I had my hand resting on top of my stomach and she kicked it. This little one is super active and I have been feeling her movements for a quite some time but it was very unexpected to actually have her kick me. Paul did not get to feel it because of course when I yelled for him, I scared her and she got quiet for awhile. Soon though!
Now that the holidays are over, we are packing and getting ready for the big move. My resolutions for 2012 are to just go with the flow, not to take life to seriuously and just let it be. I will just do as the french say,
"Laissez les bon temps rouler"
